Book Blogversary Bonanza!!!

March 21, 2014

Squuuuueeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

March 22 is HERE!  Well, it’s tomorrow but it’s practically here….give or take 18 hours.  Depending on when you are reading this, it could be two more meals until March 22.  Or six episodes of a Law and Order Marathon until March 22.  Or one morning nap, three toddler tantrums, one missed afternoon nap, one hellish bath time and three hours of crying it out until March 22.  You get the picture.

My blog is ONE YEAR OLD!!!

I Just Want To Be Alone is being released TOMORROW.  TO-MO-RROW.

Double Squuueeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

The big day has finally, finally, holy sweet mother, FINALLY arrived and I can hardly contain my excitement.  So much so, that I’m resisting the urge to TALK TO YOU IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE LOUD EXCITED PEOPLE ARE ANNOYING.

And excited people say SQUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE way too often.  Ahem.

Okay.  I’ve collected myself.  Mostly.

So, in honor of these two momentous occasions, I have teamed up with three other uber funny, irreverent, wise cracking IJWTBA authors to GIVE AWAY FREE STUFF!!

What makes this giveaway surreal for me is that around this time last year, my good friend Carla gave me a signed copy of I Just Want To Pee Alone that she had gotten at a Ladies Night Out book signing.  She told me a hilarious story about how, when it was her turn to get her book signed, she had verbal diarrhea about “my friend who just started a blog and it’s about fruit loops” to the authors at the signing.  She presented the book to me at our bus stop and and said, “Someday, this will be YOU”.

Little did we know, one short year later…..I’d be YELLING SQUEEEEEEE!  Sorry.  It just slipped out.

Who are the lovely ladies helping me celebrate my Book Blogversary Bonanza, you ask? Well, in an interesting turn of fate:  two of the three ARE THE AUTHORS WHO SIGNED MY BOOK LAST YEAR.

Yep.  Somehow, they let me into their crowd and even laugh at my jokes.

I’m in a giveaway with these three amazingly talented women:

Meredith at The Mom of The Year is the brains of our giveaway operation.  Truly.  If not for her and her mad Rafflecopter skills, you all would be getting bupkis from me.  Ahem.  You might also remember that I mentioned her essay that appeared in I Just Want To Pee Alone entitled “Love, Tears and a Few Scattered Ashes” in my recent blog, Dying Laughing.  She is funny, she is silly and she lets me ask stupid questions, including “Now, explain Rafflecopter to me like I’m a four year old”.  We love her long time.  And she signed my book.  In navy blue marker.

Bethany at I Love Them the Most When They’re Sleeping gets the “I Have the Most Misspelled, Often Incorrectly Worded, They Always Forget The Contraction In The Title” Blog Award.  Her Facebook page name doesn’t match her blog title because, in her words, “Zuck is a douche”.  She recently told me she couldn’t get something done because “I had too many kids and I can’t manage my life”.  Her blog “How’s My Summer” from last July made me laugh so hard that I got winded.  Truly.  And then I wanted to bitch slap her because I was basically reading a transcript from my summer days with my fruit loops.  Thanks for that, Bethany…  She signed my book, too.  In fancy silver marker.

Stephanie at When Crazy Meets Exhaustion is our resident no joke, gets published all over the place, has actual advertisers and website looks like she’s totally legit contributor.  Her “Conversations With A Toddler” tab is a running list of actual conversations she’s had with her kids.  And they are funny as all hell.  And I’ve had six of the exact same conversations on the list with my own fruit loops.   The fact that I’ve never met her but feel like I could walk into her house and search for vodka says a lot about who she is.  Or about me.  Not sure there…

So, now that everyone is acquainted, let’s move on, shall we?

Meredith, Bethany, Stephanie and I are teaming up to GIVEAWAY the following:

FOUR MORE BOOKS!!

How do I enter you ask?

It’s very simple.  So simple that even I could do it but only after Meredith explained it in three emails and two instant messages.  But this won’t happen to you because Rafflecopter makes things easy peasy.  I’m just ridiculous and Meredith is a whiz with thingamajigs, widgets and whoozits.

To enter, you must be 18 years of age or older and live in the continental US.

1).  Go to the Rafflecopter link on the top of this page.  See it?  It says “Rafflecopter Contest!!”
2).  Click the link.
3).  You get entered into the contest just by clicking the link.  EASY!!
4).  Additional chances to win are earned by liking my Facebook AND Twitter account (you MUST do this through the Rafflecopter link above in order for it to count!).

Now, this is where it gets good:

5).  Go to The Mom of the Year, I Love Them the Most When They’re Sleeping and When Crazy Meets Exhaustion and enter on THEIR pages!  The more Facebook likes, Twitter follows and visits to  other pages you do, the more chance you have of WINNING!  Rafflecopter is totally random, too, so no one call bullshit on us pulling names out of a hat, m’kay?  We are a legit operation.  Because of Meredith.

How great is that????

The contest ends March 26, 2014 and the winners will receive their goods when Meredith is able to get to the post office….which, if you are a mom and have to get to the post office, we know you will understand if it takes a bit to get your free stuff.  We are good for it, I promise, yo!

So, may the best person win and play fair and don’t fight and no, you can’t cheat and don’t cry if you don’t win because no one likes a sissy loser who cries.  Take some time to explore these amazing blogs and make sure to thank them because manners matter.  And because I don’t want them to kick me out of the giveaway group.  Ahem.

On a personal and somewhat sappy note, I feel that it must be said that I am so incredibly grateful for all of the support, hilarious comments on Facebook and the opportunity to get to know people I wouldn’t have otherwise met.  This blog has been such an incredible journey and I’m so honored to share it with all of you!  My first year has been exhilarating….wonder what the next year will bring???

  1. Congratulations! And how awesome is it that your friend Carla predicted this! Too bad I can’t join because I’m not from the US because I would have joined in all pages! LOL Enjoy your Bloggy Birthday!

  2. I’ve said for a while you’re an excellent writer. It’s been neat watching your journey and I’m very pleased and excited to see what will come next for you as well. Heck, you’re now “Internet Famous!”

  3. Ohmygoodness–you are SO sweet. And soooo misguided about my actual contributions to The World o’ Writing, but I love that about you 😉 It’s an absolute pleasure to be in the book with you and to host this giveaway with my PA gals! (I entered because I want to win; that’s cool, right?)
